LOFAR test station data

  • The LOFAR test station data were recorded using 25 frequency bands of 156kHz using 45 antennas
  • Dirty images (MVDR) were calculated for the original data
  • Data were corrupted by a terrestrial source with intensity of 106(a milion)
  • Standard approach yield a corrputed image
  • ASSC dirty images are unaffected by the terrestrial source

  • Standard approaches fails
    • dirty image is corrupted to a level where no image enhancement
      algorithm can recover the true sources from the strong interfering
      source
  • ASSC algorithm is immune
    • obtains images that show the true sources, eliminating the corruption
      due to the terrestrial source
